Timothy wrote this song for his friend Belly, who was suffering for 3 years from a break up. He first met Belly before the relationship, when she was full of sunshine. He didn't see Belly again until about 2 years after the relationship had ended, when she seemed to be a dead image of who she had once been. "Come Alive" was Timothy's attempt to call forth the true "Belly" he had known 2 years prior.
